The latest update package is available as a set of downloadable files. As new updates become available, the package name will change. New packages are cumulative. To obtain all available fixes, download the latest package.

Notice

Please ensure that third party software is verified to run on AIX 6.1 TL 02 (6100-02) before you migrate to VIOS 2.1. Follow the procedures for third party software as defined by the vendor for AIX or VIOS migration.

Migration package for VIOS 2.1
Package name ioslevel Description
VIOS Version 2.1 Migration DVD 2.1.0.0 This Migration DVD is used to upgrade a VIOS from VIOS 1.3 or later to VIOS Version 2.1. You cannot upgrade to VIOS 2.1 from a lower version by applying the latest Version 2.1 Fix Pack; you must use the migration method.

If your VIOS Version is already 2.1, do not use the Migration DVD. Instead, update your VIOS to the latest fix pack for Version 2.1.

Fix Pack 22.1 2.1.2.0 Fix Pack 22.1 (VIOS 2.1.2.10-FP-22.1) provides fixes for Virtual I/O Server Version 2.1.0. Applying this package upgrades the VIOS to the latest level. You must use the VIOS migration media to move to VIOS 2.1.0 from a lower level before you can apply this Fix Pack.

During the installation of Fix Pack 22.1, please ignore the following message:

sysck: 3001-022 The file /home/ios/vios_migration.bnd was not found

If your VIOS is already Version 2.1.0, you should upgrade to Fix Pack 22.1.
